Temporary Summer Student Position

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of people with intellectual disabilities?  Bruce Peninsula Association for Community Living is a non profit organization located on the Bruce Peninsula that supports people with developmental and intellectual disabilities to live meaningful, active lifestyles in their community. You will be joining a team of dedicated and committed support workers whose mission is to promote people participating and contributing fully in their community and becoming all they can be.

Funded through a Canada Summer Jobs Grant and reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the Human Resources/Administrative Assistant will provide support to the HR and Admin team.  They will work closely with the Manager of Human Resources to develop a comprehensive HR Policy Manual, New Hire Orientation program and update Job Descriptions.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work each day towards supporting people based on Bruce Peninsula Association for Community Living’s mission, vision and values;
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR and Admin Departments (answering phones, coordinating meetings, filing, etc.);
  • Assist with on Bruce Peninsula Association for Community Living’s recruitment and selection process;
  • Assist with the development and implementation of HR programs and initiatives;
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
  • Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program specific to Human Resources or Office Administration;
  • Team player with an ability to work independently;
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills;
  • Superior oral and written communication skills;

Hourly Rate: $15.75

Hours of Work: Temporary full-time (40hrs per week), Monday to Friday. Commencing mid-June for approximately 10 weeks.

Work Location: To be determined – Due to COVID-19 restrictions, work location is flexible.
