Bruce Grey Shores Employment Services is dedicated to assisting people with a disability to find meaningful employment at a competitive wage. Our program is provided at no charge to both employers and job seekers. Employers will gain a hard working employee with the knowledge and skills to fulfill their job requirements.
To qualify for employment supports, you must:
- Be at least 16 years old
- Be a resident of Ontario
- Be legally allowed to work in Canada
- Have a substantial physical or mental disability that is expected to last a year or more, and makes it hard for you to find or keep a job.
The following is a list of services offered by BGSES:
Job Search Assistance
We provide assistance to people that have a disability with developing a resume, cover letter and preparing for an interview as well as finding and securing employment.
Job Placement Services
Helps supported people to research the job market while developing job skills. We provide opportunities for people to try different fields of work so that they are able to gain a better idea of which type of employment they wish to pursue. We also provide opportunities for on the job training and securing paid employment.
Job Coaching assists a newly hired employee to attain productivity that matches other workers and to help the person deal with work performance issues. Job coaching usually involves extensive liaison with both the employee and the employer to ensure successful outcomes and ongoing employment.
We provide continued support to people in the program and their employers for up to 3 years from the date of hire. The support may involve on-site visits if requested, additional job coaching if duties change, assistance with employer accommodations, brief meetings or consultations to problem solve any issues that may arise from time to time.
